Leather Care
|
Â
Your ELLKA piece is made to be lived with. Premium leather has its own character, and natural variations in grain, texture and colour are part of what makes each piece individual. With thoughtful care, your ELLKA piece can continue to develop its character beautifully over time.  Caring for your leather Keep it dryProtect your piece from rain, moisture and spills wherever possible. If the leather does become wet, gently remove any excess moisture with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat. Avoid prolonged sunlightExtended exposure to direct sunlight can affect the colour and finish of leather. When not in use, store your piece somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. Give it roomAvoid overfilling your bag or placing excessive weight inside it. Over time, too much weight can affect the shape and structure of the piece. Protect the leatherIf you choose to use a leather protector, select a high-quality product suitable for your particular leather and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Always test any product on a small, inconspicuous area first. Store it thoughtfullyWhen your ELLKA piece is not being used, keep it in its dust bag and store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing leather in plastic or other non-breathable materials. A note about natural leatherLeather is a natural material, and no two hides are exactly alike. Subtle variations in grain, texture and colour are part of its character rather than imperfections. With time and use, your leather may develop its own patina and become uniquely yours.
